Women's history is a broad, inclusive
topic. We cannot possibly suggest books on all the interesting
perspectives and sub-topics that relate to women's history. We will
provide some basic reference work and reading suggestions that will help
researchers document important people, events, and ideas and while
suggesting avenues for further study. The books listed are recognized as reliable sources. We have
identified reading material is appropriate for different age groups, readers,
and interests.
For the most part, we do not include suggested
reading levels -- we suggest people look at books that sound interesting
and decide for themselves if they are appropriate. Remember,
subject heading and call numbers (such as
Dewey Decimals) can be used to
help find other books on the same topic. Searching for any of these
titles at a local library will identify they catalog and
classify their collection. Be sure to also look at our women's history
subject headings suggestions
too.
